Extra-constitutional takeovers: A "designated authority" would be empowered to take over, manage, or liquidate ecclesiastical properties, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities if an FCRA license is cancelled, surrendered, or even inadvertently lapses due to bureaucratic delay.
Lack of oversight: This authority would operate without judicial accountability, enabling the government to acquire and dispose of private property as it pleases.
Systemic opacity: Regulatory data has been classified as "secret," and parliamentary inquiries regarding license non-renewals have been suppressed since 2024.
Breach of global trust: These assets were built using the "sacrificial offerings" of ordinary believers from countries such as Brazil, South Africa, Mexico, Australia, and the US. Seizing them is viewed as a massive fraud on international donors who gave for social upliftment, not to subsidize the Indian state.

The Impact on the Marginalized

For over 50 years, Christian organizations have served India's most vulnerable — Dalits, tribals, and the rural poor. The All India Christian Council warns that the Bill is a "ploy" to dispossess these communities of vital resources for education, health, and human dignity. Archbishop D'Souza emphasizes that Christian institutions are "friends of India" and "patriotic citizens" whose work should be protected, not targeted by a "stealth agenda."
